Tucson, AZ deviantMEET

Location: Center for Creative Photography
University of Arizona

Tucson, AZ 85721
When: Monday, March 7th @ 2:00pm

The Center for Creative Photography is located in the Fine Arts complex in the northwest corner of the University of Arizona campus, between the Architecture and Harvill buildings.

We'll be starting out at the Center for Creative Photography and moving to Main Gate Square for food and fun times! :thumbsup:

The devMEET will be from 2:00 PM - 9:00 PM, with `Drunken-Splice taking the lead at 2, followed shortly by the arrival of $Moonbeam13 and $endosage!

At 6 PM, we'll be heading to the Frog & Firkin for food and merriment! If you can't make it to the first part of the event, we encourage you to meet us here for a devious night out! :fella:

With heavy hearts and tired eyes, we're officially concluding our week of SXSW festivities, so we'd like to take the time to reminisce on our experiences.

We started it all off with a deviantMEET in Tucson, AZ.  Deviants came out in hoards for this impromptu get-together to create art, as well as score exclusive dA swag from $endosage and $Moonbeam13!  Check out the photos from this event here.

We kept the deviantMEET momentum rolling with another meet held in Austin, TX!  The turnout was crazy amazing, with over 500 deviants in attendance.  There was music, food, and a whole lot of deviousness taking place.  Photos from this event can be found at the #Texasdevmeet group at this collection.

Finally, there was The deviantART Sandbox!  From the moment the doors opened, the place was packed with a huge range of people, from those who were active deviants to those who had never heard of deviantART.  With deviantART muro tables, art creation areas, and featured guests like Felicia Day stopping by, it was a hugely successful outing.  There were even two real live llamas who showed up during the event ready to create art using +spyed's iPad 2. We also gave away several prints from awesome artists on dA. Congrats to the lucky winners!



We'd like to take the time to thank `Drunken-Splice, `StJoan, and all of our other deviants who helped lead our events!  Also, a big thanks to everyone who came to our events and to those who kept up with our adventures online.  We've seen deviantART become accessible for everyone, even llamas, and made others more aware of and in touch with their inner creative. Keep your eyes open for an official wrap-up soon! :woohoo:

To get a badge costs around 600 dollars, am I reading this right?

the sandbox is /inside/ SXSW so yeah, you'd have to be going to SXSW to get into it. However, the meet is totally free at spiderhouse.

a LOT of people get into SXSW for free by volunteering for various organizations and companies.
